The second annual South African Student Cluster Competition, held this week in Cape Town, announced its winner moments ago: Team Youdubs!
In this regional challenge organized by the Centre for High Performance Computing, four-person teams of undergrad students run HPCC, LINPACK, AMG, and OpenFOAM on systems they’ve designed themselves. Teams are judged on both application performance and cluster design.
The winners will form the core of the team that goes on to compete at ISC’14 this June in Leipzig, Germany. Last year’s team from South Africa, the first ever to compete internationally, was the ISC’13 Overall Winner – a stunning upset victory.
More details on the way. Stay tuned!
